The beauty of imperfection
This is a film exhibition held for the first time in Puebla, Mexico, in 2023, organized by 'Al Otro Lado Cine,' aiming to celebrate imperfection as a form of artistic expression. Bringing together works that unveil the need to observe and film simultaneously. Whether out of urgency, habit, or conviction, these pieces lack pause, and there is no room for perfection. What exists is a voluntary and unapologetic surrender to the accidental — to sweeping images, delayed focus, direct sound, and exposure changes. These films are sincere in the sense that they don't seek to conceal their craftsmanship. They reveal their seams and patches, turning them into a style for storytelling and expression.
